History Of Good Neighbors

Green Good Neighbors is a non-profit organization serving southern Summit County, whose purpose is to provide area low-income families with a monthly emergency food order, gently used clothing, and miscellaneous household items.

Green Good Neighbors is a unit of Good Neighbors of Summit County which operates units throughout the area.

Good Neighbors was founded by a school nurse, Laura McClure in 1957. She saw there were children coming to school who lacked decent clothing, shoes and warm coats. With the help of a friend, she established an organization to help those who need assistance. This organization became Good Neighbors.

All contributions are deductible. We accept contributions at the far rear parking lot entrance of Greensburg United Methodist Church, every Wednesday from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm. At other times, contributions may be dropped off in the donation shed in the rear of the parking lot.
